GratefulHearts Giving Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the tools for women to gather together in the name of gratitude to benefit fellow families who need support. The organization was created by Amy Scott of Hartland and Erin Nevicosi of Greenfield, who came together through the power of social media and the shared bond of having young, growing families.
Through Grateful Hearts parties, women gather in their homes or in public spaces to donate new comfort items and assemble gift bags that are delivered to families at local hospitals who are spending their babies’ first weeks or months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), particularly over special holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas and Mother’s Day. The hostess provides food and drinks and everyone goes home with full bellies and even fuller hearts.
Grateful Hearts Giving Network will continue to grow, as it has thus far, through the power of sharing through social media and the desire for women to come together to do something good for others.
“So many of us have healthy children and other abundant blessings in our lives, and we’re all looking for a way to channel that gratitude and pay it forward,” said Amy. “Our organization helps people do that.”
After two successful years of holiday parties at Amy’s house, plus an official kick-off event earlier this year that resulted in 100 gift bags put together at Columbia St. Mary’s in Milwaukee, Amy and Erin are excited to take their nonprofit to the next level this holiday season.
