Going the extra mile is what Encompass Realty Group - Delafield, WI is all about, and Andrea Johnson is the perfect example of a realtor who has been doing just that her entire career. Andrea has an extensive career in real estate and finance and recently expanded her business to its newest location in downtown Delafield.
Having the entrepreneurial spirit that she still embodies today, Andrea purchased her first commercial building in 1993, as well as 2222 N. Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa, which is still one of her office sites. “I fell in love with investments back then,” she shares. The young entrepreneur's building included a one stop shop for housing Andrea's real estate business and affiliated mortgage business. Not too many people have the ability to look at the big picture, but Andrea did.
Growing up in the Milwaukee area, Andrea knew that when it came time to raising her children, Gabriella and Nicolas, she wanted to move out to Lake Country. In 2005, she bought her home in the area on Lake Nagawicka. Andrea loves the historic side of Delafield and the warmth that the small town has to offer. “It is a bonus that I live close enough to walk to work, and I just love the ambience of the small town feel and neighbors helping neighbors that Delafield offers,” states Andrea. By living in the Lake Country area, she has learned all there is to know about the lakes and surrounding communities.
Andrea is excited about her new location at 620 Milwaukee Street in Delafield, which is one of the oldest storefronts in Delafield, over 100 years old, and was the town drug store back in the 1930s. She opened her boutique style office in October 2013, just in time for Delafield's Ladies Night Out. The feeling one gets when first walking in is that of warmth and a friendly atmosphere. As a member of the Delafield Chamber of Commerce, Andrea has embraced the community she lives and works in and enjoys calling Delafield “home.”
Asked how she originally started her own business, Andrea states, “I have always had my own business, and I did not know any other way.” When Andrea started out, she wanted to offer something different and did not want to be like the other big box real estate companies. She provides a more personalized service and has even been known to go knocking on doors in neighborhoods where her customers are interested in living to find available properties. She also offers aerial photographs, a perk that most other agents do not provide to their clients. Part of what separates Andrea from others are her efforts to learn what her clients’ needs truly are and ensure they are being met. Efforts like this are just another example of how Andrea works to exceed her clients' expectations.
What inspires Andrea the most about her business is working with people and helping them to achieve their goals. In many cases she believes she takes on an advisory role, and her experience in finance plus her knowledge regarding closing transactions and contracts has propelled her to be an industry leader. Andrea realizes that repeat business is part of what makes Encompass Realty Group so successful, and she strives to listen to her customers in order to make certain it is a positive experience for them. Andrea comments, “I get butterflies when a customer walks into a house, and I know that they love it and it is just right for them.” Creating that connection is not always easy, but for Andrea it is all part of her going the extra mile.
